Beck releases new song, “I Just Started To Hate Some People Today”, with the aid of who else but Jack White. The song is done similarly to what Jack White has done on his recent album Blunderbuss. In addition to this song Beck has also release “Blue Randy” which can be found on the same EP. White plays drums on the former and adds punk vocals to the latter. Check out the song above.

M83 has released the official video for “Reunion” the second single from Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

Directed by Fleur & Manu and Produced by DIVISION, “Reunion” is part two of the story that commenced with “Midnight City.” Together, these two tracks are the soundtrack for a pack of gifted kids with telekinetic powers who escape from an institution and run wild through a desolate cityscape. In the first video we witness their liberation, with “Reunion” we experience their defiance.

Having recently relocated to Los Angeles, the video reflects Anthony’s ongoing love affair with the magical escapism of film and the city itself.

Black Sabbath (minus original drummer Bill Ward) killed it at their reunion show at the O2 Academy in Britain. Ozzy Osbourne sounded better than ever, Tony Iommi (who recently recovered from Lymphoma) played fantastically and Geezer Butler brought the house down with his heavy bass playing. The creators of Heavy Metal (what an accolade to have on your resume) were nothing short of amazing. You can scour YouTube for more videos of the gig but check out “Children Of The Grave” above.

The Scissor Sisters return to form with their 4th full length studio album, Magic Hour. The sisters are as fierce as ever in this high energy, disco-inspired album. There are few dull moments on the album that features guest spots from Azealia Banks (aka Krystal Pepsy), Calvin Harris, Diplo & Pharrell.

The album’s first track, “Baby Come Home”, is somewhat reminiscent of “Take Your Mama Out” with it’s disco meets country feel. “Keep Your Shoes On” has a funky-disco feel to with midtempo beat and Jake Shears typical falsetto vocals. “Only The Horses” is a stand out track on the album, which happens to be their second single produced by Calvin Harris. The single is an obvious Harris tune and you immediately feel that “We Found Love” sound when listening. “Shady Love” is by far the best track on the album featuring the incredibly popular Azealia Banks under the moniker Krystal Pepsy. Banks adds her inevitably slick soul voice to the rap parts and chorus. Without Banks on the track it would probably fall flat but Banks lifts it to new heights. The album slows down with Jake Shears melancholic but inspirational track “Secret Life Of Letters.” The album gets extra funky with Ana Matronic’s Caribbean inspired “Let’s Have A Kiki”, which spells out the secrets of drag excursions.

Fans of the Sisters won’t be disappointed with this album. They stay true to who they are and are never afraid to cross those forbidden boundaries that most artists wouldn’t dream of crossing. Magic Hour is the Sisters at their best.

Garbage Returns To New York City With Reunion Tour

Just a typical Tuesday night it was for a historic concert to occur in New York City at the famous Manhattan venue Webster Hall. Alternative rock icons Garbage hit the venue as part of their reunion tour after a 7 year hiatus. The last time the group performed in the big apple was back in 2005, and ever since then, the group had been tremendously missed by fans. Tuesday night’s show was completely sold out with loyal fans, as they packed Webster Hall for a night they are sure to remember.

At 9 pm on the dot, Garbage opened their hour and 45 minute show with the hard pounding new track “Automatic Systematic Habit”. Their setlist consisted of a few new songs from their recently released fifth studio album, Not Your Kind Of People, but mainly focused on taking their fans back in time with the older classics that spanned their long career. Front woman Shirley Manson looked amazing and had the same energy as if she was the girl we all fell in love with back in the 90’s. Even though she had some problems with hearing where the band was in “Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go)”, she got back on track and rocked out the rest of the song. The group brought the 90’s back with hit songs that made them famous, such as “Queer”, “Stupid Girl” and “I Think I’m Paranoid”. Manson even decided to tease Madonna fans in the audience by singing lyrics from “Erotica”, just before getting into the Romeo + Juliet song “#1 Crush”. She took a moment at one point in the show to praise her band members Steve, Duke and Butch, for being an amazing group of guys and coming back as a band again. The group closed their set with their hit singles “Only Happy When It Rains” and electronic rock hit “Push It”, with an encore to follow.

The band returned to the stage, as Manson asked a lucky fan in the audience named Jim, if he wanted his vinyl record of their new album signed by her. She grabbed it from him, signed it and asked if he wants the others to sign it. With that being said, all other members signed the record as well. When she handed the record back, she told the audience she was going to take them back to 1995 as the group began “Supervixen” off their debut album. Garbage ended the evening with their first single ever released “Vow” and said goodnight. Fans were left satisfied with such an amazing show, filled with high energy and a great setlist full of classics. Garbage will continue on with their reunion tour throughout the world, but are always welcome back to perform in NYC anytime.

CONFIRMED FOR AUSTIN CITY LIMITS

Canadian pop-rock icons Tegan and Sara have announced that they will hit the road with The Black Keys for the extension of their U.S. Tour later this year. Additionally, the girls are confirmed to play Austin City Limits this October. The official ACL lineup was announced today and can be seen in full on the festival’s website.

Over the last couple months, Tegan & Sara have been hard at work recording their new album. The Quin sisters have been in the studio with Greg Kurstin (The Shins, Lily Allen, Sia), Mike Elizondo (Regina Spektor, Mastodon, Rilo Kiley), and Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Neon Trees, M83, Moving Units). They’ve offered up fans an inside look at the process of recording too through Tegan and Sara’s Carpool Confessional, a weekly video show filmed from the back of their car and featuring a wide variety of special guests and musical collaborators. Additionally, Rolling Stone rolled out weekly behind the scenes photo updates from the studio, all captured by Lindsey Byrnes.

Tegan and Sara lend vocals to two tracks on Grammy-nominated Morgan Page’s new album In The Air, including the single, “Body Work,” which they also star in the video for. Having remixed numerous cuts for the indie stalwarts, the three wanted to write something together from scratch. “Body Work” is a stellar example of Page’s skills as a producer and as an artist: brilliantly balancing kinetic house music with blissful pop.

QuébecCity, May 22, 2012: Over 40 years later, people still talk about Woodstock… 25 years on, people still remember Live Aid…and decades from now a lucky few will still rave about a unique performance of “Roger Waters – The Wall”. Only once before has the record-breaking show been staged both outdoors and on this scale – exactly 22 years ago in Berlin.

On Saturday July 21^st, Québec City will make history when Waters unveils the largest Wall ever seen.

Roger Waters says: “I’ve always loved playing in Québec. The Québécois are a very passionate and musical people and we’ll be playing on the Fields of Abraham. This is going to be completely unlike any of The Wall shows we’ve done anywhere else in the world.“

Not for 22 years have music fans been able to witness the scale of Waters’ seminal album performed live in this way. The Wall itself will more than double in size to more than 250 metres, while a full surround sound system will shake the entire site. Waters will continue to push the boundaries of musical experience with additional lighting and pyrotechnics, while many more surprises will write another page of history on the Plains of Abraham.

Azealia Banks team has announced that tickets will go on sale 5/24 for her show at Bowery Ballroom. If you have seen Banks, get on your computers EARLY to buy tickets, the show is worth it! Banks says it’s going to be “a gathering of kunts, gays, queers, and weirdoes alike in which various dance contests and bizarre/epic shit goes down.” From what we saw at Coachella, she’s right.
