Bright Moments is Kelly Pratt. You already know who Kelly Pratt is as he’s a touring member and contributing member of Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem and Coldplay. He has quite a reputation as a musician and now he’s created his own album which is nothing less than fantastic. “Travelers” is the first single off of his upcoming album Natives.

The album starts with a subtle handclap and piano on “Tourists” but quickly picks up the brass section that Pratt is known for. Being that Pratt is the contributing brass member of the many bands he has formed/toured with, expect to hear a lot of brass instruments. “Travelers” is a shining example of Pratt’s brass work. “Behind the Gun” sounds a bit like a Foster the People song but none the less it’s a great track and probably the second best on the album. Pratt talks of “Drifting with the tide” and asks “Is it Tuesday or Saturday?”, suggesting a rather go-with-the-flow type of existence on “Drifters.” After all this is an album about finding who you are, where you belong and all of life’s journeys. “The Sailor” captures the essence of this album telling us “you will save yourself from the misery” and is easily my most favorite track on the album.

Kelly Pratt is no Arcade Fire, but this one man show has many “Bright Moments.”
