Husband and wife duo, Tennis, are about to release their second album Old and Young. I thankfully got an advance copy to listen to this indie pop GEM with lots of fuzz and literally 0 fuss. The album boasts on infectious pop songs that will wrap themselves around your heart-strings and place a permanent occupancy in your ear drums.

“Origins” really gives the album a kick-start. It might have been wiser to make this track 1 on the album because it’s by far the stand out track on the album. It gives us a lot to look forward to on an album full of surprises. I did not know what to expect after “Origins” but then I was struck with “My Better Self” a song about finding oneself and learning from our mistakes. Then “Traveling” hits you hard. A carnival-esque keyboard with a very upbeat tempo surrounded by lyrics describing two people that are very much in love but traveling with cautiousness as Alaine Moore describes so eloquently “This must be rare ‘cause nothing else can compare, not that I’m aware of.” “Petition” is a jaunty track with yet again that infectious indie pop sound sung by a woman with a voice that is full of character and soulfulness.

If you like indie pop/rock this is a MUST purchase album.

9 on the FUZZ scale!
